Reviews

I bought David Busch's guide book as a companion to my new T2i a few years ago and I was impressed with his in-depth yet easily understandable explanations in that volume. So now I have moved up to the T5i and I knew I was going to require a little more guidance than what the Canon user manual has to offer to help me understand some of the latest features of this camera. I almost opted for the Dummies book but I liked Mr. Busch's style of writing and the comprehensive content of the previous T2 book so I decided to stick with this book.I feel I made the right choice! This book does a great job of bridging the chasm between the most basic of beginners instruction to a great wealth of tips and pointers that the seasoned amatuer or semi-pro would find helpful. The content is presented in a logical progression yet information is easily accessible when you need a quick reference.Chapter six covering movies and live view is worth the price of admission alone. I've been shooting 8mm, Super8, VHS, Digital8, miniDV and others for over 50 years and I found some pointers here that were very helpful even though I probably won't use my T5i for video work anytime soon.I particularly applaud the author's coverage of additional lenses and other accessories that a T5i owner may want to invest in down the road. The book itself is of notable quality with heavy stock, clear sharp illustrations and a sturdy binding. Printed in the USA, too!If you own a Canon T5i or plan to get one soon, do yourself a favor and get a copy of this book!
