You've got the manual - it tells you what the buttons and settings do but not how, why or when to use them.I found this book (Kindle version) to be a comprehensive guide to the D3400. Along with Tony Northrup's DSLR Book: How to Create Stunning Digital Photography I think you'll have everything you need to make great photographs. There is a LOT of info in this book. Some of it you may not want right away, but you can skip to the parts that you need and come back to the others later. Highly recommended.
