Reviews

I've been doing nature-oriented macro photography off and on for many years and have many books on the subject. In the course of upgrading my skills and equipment for a special multi-year project, I've also purchased most of the current books on the topic. Of the more than 15 books on my shelf on macro and close-up photography, this is easily the best introduction. It gets right to the basics of this type of photography and provides very straightforward, yet timeless lessons in how to do it. The book has simplicity and wisdom and is written unusually clearly. Lots of advice on how to do macro and closeup without breaking the bank! If I were asked to recommend one book to someone starting to get interested in the macro world and needing to do macro photography for a job, hobby or vocation, this would be it.
